They are currently looking for a Hire Equipment Quality Manager to work in their Hire Warehouse based in Bristol. The main responsibilities will be to focus on the overall management and improvement of Hire Equipment assets and associated facilities. The aim of the role is to undertake a full evaluation of hire assets and determine how they achieve their business aim of being the number one Hire Company in the industry when measured in terms of equipment quality, function, aesthetics and perception.

Other responsibilities will include:

· Provide effective line management & leadership for warehouse staff responsible for equipment preparation, maintenance & repair
· Develop, recruit, train & retain staff as appropriate
· Conduct continual assessment across all areas of hire equipment standards, prep and maintenance procedures/processes within the current operation.
· Formulate remedial action plans, operating plans and continuous improvement plans, present your proposals, rationale & expected benefits to obtain Business “Sign off”.
· Carry out Change Management through strong man management, mentoring and re-organisation as appropriate
· Demonstrate key improvement milestones
· Demonstrate a marked decrease in Hire equipment related issues, complaints and sub-standard equipment performance. This is to be verified by increased internal and external customer satisfaction and improved company financial reports
· Be pro-active in identifying & implementing continuous improvement initiatives, monitoring & refining their effectiveness
· Ensure new equipment is adopted into stock with appropriate protective casing, spares list/stock, specialist tools and prep and maintenance procedures along with advance staff briefings
· Develop a lifecycle plan for all hire equipment on a prioritised basis
· Manage your business areas in line with the departmental operating budget
Work with the Hire Service Quality Manager & Hire Logistics Team to ensure a coherent approach is adopted to enable the customer services, order fulfilment and asset maintenance aspects of the Hire function to complement each other

Skills and Qualifications required

Central to the success of this role is the willingness and ability of the individual to provide excellent leadership and create team spirit, engaging with the staff and processes that require review. Whilst it is expected that statistics and management information will form part of the decision making tools it is vitally important that much of the assessment comes from spending time amongst the operation and with customers and customer facing staff. This will enable first hand experience and observation of operational issues in parallel with building credibility on the rationale behind change proposals with the existing staff.


To succeed in this role you will need a proven track record of delivering and managing systematic improvements in equipment maintenance and quality, be an inspirational leader with strong effective line and departmental management skills, have a minimum of ILM Level 3 First Line Management or equivalent, NVQ Level 3 in Engineering Maintenance or equivalent, be a motivated leader who demonstrates empathy, flexibility and responsibility. You must be able to generate ideas and embrace change with a strong capability to lead others through change.

You will be a good general communicator with competent written & verbal communication skills, able to engage in groups with good self expression and be a competent negotiator and influencer.
