Description:

Role purpose

Provide support for air and ocean movements.

Responsibilities
- Co-ordinate customs clearance procedures, including verifying customs codes for inbound shipments
- Raising and receiving of purchase orders via the Purchase Order system
- Develop relationships with suppliers
- Direct, manage & track the requests for International freight
- Ensure that equipment moving in/out of the European Union is completed in accordance with HMRC regulations and guidelines
- Ensure all legal requirements are under taken and recorded
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant legislation and factors that could affect the movement of freight, informing the Logistics manager of any actions required to meet such regulations
- Produce and track ATA carnets and checking returned ATA carnets for compliance, reporting any irregularities to HMRC
- Liaise with the appropriate departments to co-ordinate and assist with the transport requirements
- Be available within reason to resolve freight issues outside of normal working hours
- Be the point of contact for all transport issues in the absence of Head of Department
