Description:
This role primarily involves the repair of control PCBs for automated lighting fixtures. The main duties and responsibilities include:
· Component level repair of electronic sub-assemblies maintaining the highest level of operational and technical expertise, whilst ensuring that equipment is repaired, upgraded and retrofitted to precise standards.
· Keeping accurate repair records using service software systems.
· Establishing close links with vendors to ensure best practice approach.
· Assisting in the training and development of staff and clients.
· Specifying and sourcing, or building new test equipment.
· Helping to co-ordinate the set up of parts required for new products in conjunction with Stores Department.
· Performing any other duties as deemed necessary by and as directed by the Service Centre Team Leader.
Skills and Qualifications required
The ideal applicant will come with an Electronics background to HNC level with excellent soldering abilities on SMD printed circuit boards (RoHS). You will be:
· Computer literate in Windows applications.
· Able to troubleshoot, fault find and repair on PCBs and units to component level.
· Experienced in repairing SMPS, ballasts and complex digital boards.
You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, and you will be able to prioritise daily workload, work in a team or on your own initiative, work under pressure and within strict time restraints. You will also be self-motivated, positive and polite.
